About

Originally born in the USA, Dianna has been in the UK for over 30 years and intends to stay a little longer!

She started her working life as a physiotherapist and, after studying photography for 3 years at City and Guilds, became a professional photographer 7 years ago. Although she is still a practicing physiotherapist, it is now a part-time job, giving her time to pursue more of her much-loved 'new' career.

She specialises in plants and gardens with a particular interest in wildflowers and has been widely published in both horticultural and photographic sectors of books, magazines and newspapers. Much of her work has appeared in Country Living, The English Garden, Gardeners World, Outdoor Photography and Practical Photography among others.

Living by the sea in Poole, Dorset, has also inspired a new collection of coastal images, available to view on this site.

Several images have won awards in the RHS Garden Photographer of the Year competitions over the last few years and some have made the finals of the Garden Photographers Association cometitions and exhibited at Kew Gardens. 2007 saw the launch of the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition and she was delighted to have her portfolio 'Grass Flowers' reach the finals, especially in this inaugural year.

Work is currently represented by GAP Photos . She is also a member of the The Garden Photographers Association within the Garden Media Guild.

Her style is more artistic than record, preferring to emphasise colour, form and texture. Close-ups, plant portraits, naturalistic gardens, wild flowers, meadows and coastal views all feature BUT with a creative edge.

She is particularly drawn to grasses in all their forms, individually and how they relate with other plants, bringing their meadow–like characteristics to gardens. She is therefore delighted with and indebted to Knoll Gardens for allowing her 'Freedom of the Garden'!
