iPhone Photography: Before and After

I love the freedom of the iPhone camera. Showing my age somewhat but it reminds a little of the old Polaroids. Something in their character I think.

The images from an iPhone are of excellent quality but it is the apps that make it something of an art form. Such is the method behind them that every one is unique and individual and quite likely unrepeatable.

There are many apps with many styles with the option even to move each image into different apps layering up the character that makes your final image.

This one above, I am pleased to say was Commended in IGPOTY but the original, below, is comparatively bland.

I like to think of 'iPhonography' as a completely different genre of creative photography- one that was impossible with film without a lot of time and chemistry. As a camera to work seriously with in my job as a professional? Nowhere near but can add another dimension to client work if applied in the right way.

Here are a few more...

To find the best apps, just Google and you will find many variations of the Top 10. I am a Snapseed fan myself.

Check out the iPhone creative page on this site to see more images.
